The 2nd Club Cup for Women was extremely close on many occasions. In the quarterfinal phase two matches were decided by board count with the home side beating Halle and Goša eliminating favourites Wuppertal. Another win by top board Lakos gave the Croatian side Kastav sensational semifinal draw v Kyiv to pave their way to the big final. Their opponents were Goša who beat Partizan in the intra-Yugoslav clash. The cup went to Goša who easily beat Kastav 3-1. Kyiv took third place. Slough CC, the weakest side in the pool beat Halle on board count to finish in 7th. Halle came last, even though they scored more game points than runners-up Kastav! (5½ v 5) |
