Schweppes and C.I.D.A. were only contenders for gold. Calvo moves to Schweppes while C.I.D.A. fielded legendary Danish GM Larsen at top board. As it happened, Schweppes beat the Canaries team by 2½-1½ and finished at 29 points, with clear 3 and a half point advantage. Leridano-Ruy López and Barcelona were relegated to the newly created second league (Segunda División) and Maspalomas and La Coruña easily qualified to the next year's first league. |
