Tournament review

There were 10 teams in the second women's Mitropa Cup held in Steinbrunn, Eastern Austria. The event drew one IM (Hagarová of Slovakia, she was also top rated player at 2386) and two WGMs (Muzičuk and Lematschko). Top rated teams were Slovakia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic.

Anna Muzičuk taking the restSlovenia took easy win despite losing sensationally to Austria on day four. They had 1½ point edge over the rest of the field. Three teams came second at 13 points. Slovak board #2 Borošová lost to Kruljac of Croatia in the last round to allow the Czech team to overtake Slovakia. Switzerland came fourth despite of dreadful start (1/4). Best individual results were achieved by Blažková of the Czech Republic and Muzičuk of Slovenia - 8/9.
