Tournament review

U.G.A. of Barcelona wiped out defending champions Las Palmas 4-0 in the opening round of the championship, and what started well, was even better at the end. The Catalan team took their first ever Spanish title with huge margin over the rest. The teams and all the players went throughout the tournament undefeated. Three players scored best individual results as well. Vulcá scored their second silver in the second season in La Primera División and newcomers Caja de Ahorros Málaga came in surprise third. GM Bent Larsen did not enter UD Las Palmas team and so the champions were unexpectidely relegated togeter with another Canaries team Caja Insular.
