Ukrainian Team Chess Championship
The Ukraine became the sovereign entity in December 1991 and the premier team chess championship followed in 1993, even though there were some (list incomplete) team events played between the cities in the times of Ukrainian SSR.
As little is provided (if any) from earlier years of the championship, one may be little disappointed with moderate prestige of the annual event held in the Crimean resort of Alushta. For example Vasyl Ivanchuk never played (!), Ponomariov just two times after leaving junior age in 2000, Volokytin, Karjakin and the likes have few appearances too. In 2012 average Elo of top three teams was mere 2483, way below Ukraine's impressing potential.
