Tournament review

For the third time the four preliminary groups and four final groups was used. Silver and bronze medal winners battled in preliminary group C together (why not seeded?!) and Español win by a point even though they lost 2½-1½ to Gijón in the last round. CA Barcelona lost to C.I.D.A. and were relegated to the consolation groups. In the grand final Schweppes win easily, although they unexpectedly lost 1 and ½ of a point v Tarrasa. C.I.D.A. de Las Palmas de Gran Canaria took silver. As future proved, it was the very beginning of their long and successful way.
