Tournament review

There were eight teams in the 1960 championship held in Barcelona, of which four were representing the home city. Chardenet were in clear lead all way long. With last round to go they had 3 point advantage over Real, and the leaders met on the final day. Real needed steamrolling 4-0, had they been dreaming of gold. It proved so near... they moved to 3-0 win just before time control. Sadly, the adjourned game was drawn and so Chardenet took the title on tiebreak.
Chardenet-Real ½-3½: Torán-Pomar 0-1 Farré-López 0-1 E.Pérez-Menvielle 0-1, Morán-Sicilia ½-½
