Tournament review

The arch-rivals, Real Madrid CF and Club Ajedrez Barcelona, champions of Castille and Catalonia respectively tied in the first Spanish chess team championship, the double round eight board match played twice, in Barcelona then followed in Madrid. Barcelona won comfortably on each of the four rounds and their top board Albareda beat reigning Spanish champion Díez del Corral, 2½-1½ overall. Beltrán and Coll contributed mostly to the Catalonian win scoring 4/4 each.
