The XLIV Spanish Team Championships with players including Alexei Shirov and Veselin Topalov took place August 5th-13th 2000 in Barcelona, Spain.

The winners were the team Palm Oasis Maspalomas who had Shirov and Topalov as their top two boards. They were ahead of CA Marcote (top board Giorgadze) and Riverte Albox.
