Tunisia's champions who won ten gold medals and ten silver at this event were accompanied by the President of the World Chess Federation (FIDE), Vice-President of the Arab Chess Federation and the President of the Tunisian Chess Federation. FIDE Presiden Kirsan Ilyumzhinov said after the ceremony that he had discussed with the President Tunisia's preparations for the organisation of the World School Chess Championships in 2016, the World Youth Chess Championship in 2017 and the World Senior Chess Championship in 2015. For his part, President of the Tunisian Chess Federation Youssri Dali stressed that good performances of Tunisia's champions at the Arab level "will certainly have the best impact on this sport in Tunisia and restore its reputation lost for over 30 years." |
