Top ten from premier Chinese Championship formed the 2006 league. The event was considerably weaker, featuring solely domestic players. Beijing were top seeds, yet lost twice 3-2 to underdogs Shandong. The latter, with mere five rounds to go were in clear 3 point lead, yet finished badly. Underestimated Chongqing team won bronze. Strong Hebei team could not find adequate strength on women's board and finished only 6th. The best teams received the following prizes: 1st - 120.000 yuans, 2nd - 70.000 yuans, 3rd - 50.000 yuans, 4th - 40.000 yuans, 5th - 30.000 yuans, 6th - 20.000 yuans. |
