Tournament review

Notably Russia beat Moscow by an unbelievable margin 8½-½ in the final group; Moscow had 4 GMs in their line-up, including 2 ex-World Champions. Lithuanian master Mikėnas (Spartakiad's veteran at 65) was awarded special price as he played in the premier Soviet team championship in 1948. The youngest participant was master candidate Yurtaev of Kyrgyzstan, 16.
