Notably Russia beat Moscow by an unbelievable margin 8½-½ in the final group; Moscow had 4 GMs in their line-up, including 2 ex-World Champions. Lithuanian master Mikėnas (Spartakiad's veteran at 65) was awarded special price as he played in the premier Soviet team championship in 1948.
