Tournament review

The Glasgow festival was held in May 1975 to commemorate the 800th anniversary of the granting of Glasgow's burgh charter in 1175. The festival's poster incorporates the fish, bell, bird and tree from Glasgow's coat of arms. The festival was billed as the "greatest celebration the city has ever seen." Events included a Lord Provost's Procession, a Highland Gathering at Scotstoun and a "Song for Glasgow" contest sponsored by the Evening Times newspaper

There were four British teams participating fielding many promising players. England beat Scotland on the opening day to secure safe win at 16½ points. IM Levy of Scotland and Ms. Caldwell of England were the two to score 3 of 3.
